PILBARA Ports Authority delivered a total monthly throughput of 64.6 million tonnes for the month of December 2019. This throughput was a 2% increase compared to the same month in 2018.
The total throughput for the 2019/20 financial year to date is 356.2Mt, an increase of 2% from the same time last year.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 47.9Mt in December, of which 47.3Mt was iron ore exports. The monthly throughput was a 3% increase from December 2018.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 172,000 tonnes, a decrease of 22% from the same month in 2018.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 15.8Mt, a decrease of 2% from December 2018.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 87,000 tonnes, an increase of 6% from the same month in 2018.
