Throughput up across the board at Pilbara ports

THE month of January 2021 saw 57.1 million tonnes of cargo move through the ports managed by Pilbara Ports Authority. This throughput was a 4% increase compared to the same month in 2020.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 42.7 million tonnes of which 42.5 million tonnes was iron ore exports. The monthly throughput was a 4% increase from January 2020.

Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 173,000 tonnes, a decrease of 9% from the same month in 2020.

The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 13.5 million tonnes, an increase of 4% from January 2020.

Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 111,000 tonnes, a decrease of 11% from the same month in 2020.
