TRANSPORT company Secon Freight Logistics is further expanding its presence in Victoria having secured an additional 33,310sq metre facility in Truganina in Melbourne’s west.
The new building at 47-53 Foundation Road, Truganina was developed by Dexus and is to be under a long-term lease term with Secon starting July 2019.
This is understood to be the largest deal for an existing building in Victoria this year and comes after Secon’s recent commitment to a 21,000sq metre logistics hub on 90,000-square-metres of land in Truganina with Berton Investments.
“Further to our recent announcement on the construction of our Niton Drive home, Secon is now excited to announce the signing of a long-term lease with Dexus,” Secon chief executive Steve Nailer said.
“This newly constructed purpose-designed contract logistics complex is strategically located three kilometres from our Niton facility and will provide further opportunities to drive efficiencies in our business, and importantly allow us to continue to improve service levels for our customers,” he said.
“This will finalise our Victorian consolidation strategy, allowing us to create a leading-edge operational footprint to accommodate our continued growth.”
Secon partnered with property and supply chain firm, TM Insight, to secure the new facility.
