PERTH-based marine and subsea services provider MMA Offshore has rebranded as Cyan Renewables and is opening a Melbourne office.
The rebranding follows its acquisition last year by global offshore services platform, Cyan Renewables.
In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange the company said the rebrand marks a pivotal step in aligning the business with Australia’s emerging offshore wind industry and the broader global transition to clean energy.
The opening of the Melbourne Office establishes a regional presence adjacent to key upcoming offshore wind farm developments in Victoria and New South Wales.
Cyan’s Melbourne office will be headed up by Wesley Griffiths, Head of Offshore Wind, Australia.
The ASX notice said Mr Griffiths is an accomplished project logistics professional with significant experience in managing complex logistics projects for the offshore wind and traditional energy sectors.
“With a proven track record across marine operations, subsea services, and complex offshore projects, the newly branded Cyan Renewables is uniquely positioned to support the energy transition including the developing offshore wind industry in Australia—from early-stage surveying and construction support to long-term vessel operations and maintenance.”
CEO of Cyan Renewables Keng Lin Lee said Australia is entering a transformative era for offshore wind, and by combining MMA’s local expertise with Cyan’s global focus would enable the organisation to play a role in Australia’s clean energy future.
“Australia’s first offshore wind projects will require extensive marine logistics, port services, and specialist vessels,” the ASX notice said.
“Cyan Renewables aims to play a leading role in supporting developers and government agencies to deliver these landmark projects safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
“Cyan will continue to service its key clients across the energy sectors in Australia, whilst building stronger relationships with governments and the blue economy.
The company is a pioneer in global offshore wind vessel operations, established in 2022 and led by a team of industry veterans.
The company has grown rapidly to become the largest offshore wind-focused vessel platform in the APAC region, with operations and offices across Asia, Europe and Australia.
It has a fleet of 34 vessels and an extensive track record in the offshore wind industry.
As well as offshore wind farm development it can also offer a suite of blue solutions from engineered reefs to fisheries protection.
