THE QUEENSLAND government has announced eight director appointments across Ports North, Gladstone Ports Corporation, North Queensland Bulk Ports and Port of Townsville.
Kate Lamason has been appointed to the Ports North board, while Fleur Anderson, Alex Jarufe and Candice Stower have been appointed to Gladstone Ports Corporation.
Emma Coburn and Jeanine Drummond have been appointed to North Queensland Bulk Ports, with Sarah Bowrey and John Hathaway joining the Port of Townsville board.
The government said the appointments would strengthen the boards of the government-owned port corporations and support service delivery.
Queensland minister for finance, trade, employment and training Ros Bates welcomed the appointees and thanked outgoing board members for their service.
“Strong leadership across our businesses is critical to diversify Queensland’s trade capabilities, strengthening our economy and supporting future growth,” Ms Bates said.
“These new appointments will help our ports seize new opportunities that support economic growth.”
Transport and main roads minister Brent Mickelberg also welcomed the new directors.
“We look forward to working closely with our boards to ensure these important assets continue to serve Queenslanders well into the future,” Mr Mickelberg said.
