SEVERAL of the industry’s movers and shakers are on the move, so it’s time to update your contact lists!
Veteran of Toll, Kalmar, ANL (multiple roles over two stints), Brambles Marine and Mitsui-OSK, Tom Holyman has relocated to Singapore to take up the position of senior vice president, Global Ocean Product & Agency Network Solutions at Visy Global Logistics.
Mr Holyman’s position as vice president, ocean freight, Australia & New Zealand at Toll Global Forwarding in Melbourne has been taken by Anthony Orgill, most recently owners’ representative in Australia for Singapore’s SeaLead Shipping, which completed its withdrawal from the China-Australia trade in early June. Mr Orgill was previously with ANL for 28 years, latterly as general manager of Asian trades.
SeaLead last week was placed in voluntary liquidation, after the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control directly designated Sea Lead Shipping Pte Ltd, along with subsidiaries in Dubai, the Marshall Islands and India, as part of a major action against the shipping and trading network of Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani, son of senior Iranian political figure Ali Shamkhani, Splash 247 reported.
“Treasury alleged SeaLead was a key container shipping business within Shamkhani’s network and said the company and related entities enabled the movement of both legitimate and illicit cargoes, including shipments connected to Iran-backed Houthi interests in Yemen. OFAC also blocked three remaining SeaLead-linked containerships,” the publication said.
“The designation went considerably further than the sanctions shock SeaLead suffered in July 2025, when 16 ships it had chartered were blacklisted over alleged links to the Shamkhani network. SeaLead immediately terminated those charters at the time and repeatedly denied links to the Iranian regime, insisting it maintained stringent sanctions-screening and due-diligence procedures.”
SeaLead was founded in 2017 and rose rapidly to become the world’s 13th largest container carrier by mid 2025.
At Swire Shipping, Mark Celenk has been appointed as chief operating officer, returning to maritime after having most recently served as Director, Southeast Asia for John Swire & Sons. He has replaced Ben Pike, who is now chief transformation officer. Ali Vali-Khojeini has moved from general manager liner trades at Swire’s China Navigation Co Pte Ltd to general manager, corporate development at Swire Shipping.
And it is understood prominent former Adelaidian Glen Hilton has resigned from his role as CEO & MD for Asia Pacific at DP World, based in Singapore. Mr Hilton is believed to be joining his former boss, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, at Malaysia’s MMC Ports, the holding company for six ports including Tanjung Pelepas, Johore, Northport and Penang. He has not responded to an email from DCN seeking confirmation of the moves, which were advised to staff late last week.
