NEPTUNE Pacific Direct Line, now headquartered in Singapore under newish managing director Kim A Kristensen, has officially reverted to Neptune Pacific Line in what is described as “as an evolution of the brand”.
Still wholly owned by California’s The Wonderful Company, Neptune Pacific added the ‘Direct’ in 2021 after the year prior acquiring Pacific Direct Line from Singapore’s PIL and merging the two businesses.
In 2025 the transition back to just Neptune Pacific began, acknowledging what the company said was the way it was generally referred to anyway, or more formally, “to better reflect the company’s identity today and its broader positioning in the market.
“Customers and partners may have already seen the updated Neptune Pacific name and refreshed visual identity appearing in communications, on digital platforms, and at key industry events, including the FIJI Water and Neptune Pacific Career Centre announcement,” the company said.
“This update marks a significant milestone in the company’s almost 30-year journey. Since its establishment in 1997, Neptune Pacific has grown to operate one of the most extensive shipping and logistics networks in the South Pacific, connecting more than 20 countries through a dedicated vessel fleet supported by onshore Transam agencies.
“While the name is evolving, Neptune Pacific remains firmly committed to the reputation, trust, and service excellence established under NPDL. Importantly, this is solely a brand update, with no changes to the legal entity, ownership, or organisational structure of the business.
“Neptune Pacific operations are continuing as usual, supported by the same expert teams, and consistent service standards customers are familiar with. In the coming months, the Neptune Pacific brand name and elements will continue to be introduced across the South Pacific network, ensuring consistency and clarity at every touchpoint.”
Meanwhile, Neptune Pacific is making service adjustments, transferring the 1,713 TEU Capitaine Tupaia from NZPAC to the ANZPAC service to operate alongside partner Swire Shipping’s vessel, the 1,368 TEU Takutai Chief.
The 1,103 TEU NPDL Tahiti moves from ANZPAC to NZPAC which has been split into two loops, with NPDL Tahiti operating the Fiji Express on a 14-day rotation of Tauranga, Auckland, Suva, Lautoka, Tauranga while NZPAC now operates Tauranga, Auckland, Suva, Lautoka, Apia, Pago Pago, Nuku’alofa, Tauranga with the 1,730 TEU Capitaine Tasman and 2,200 TEU Neptune Matua.
