PATRICK TERMINALS is launching two initiatives to improve interface functions for container management and road transport, via OneStop’s OptiBook at Port Botany and the company’s own Patrick Connect app.

OptiBook will go live at the Sydney AutoStrad Terminal on Saturday, 28 November 2026. Patrick says the new container management solution integrates with the OneStop Vehicle Booking System to improve operational efficiency and provide greater transparency across the landside supply chain.

OptiBook provides Patrick Terminals customers with enhanced visibility of container status and container availability, along with a streamlined slot booking process, the companies say.

To help transport operators prepare, OneStop and Patrick Terminals hosted an OptiBook Carrier Engagement Forum yesterday [28 October]to provide an overview of the system’s functionality ahead of go-live, and OneStop will also host two online, one-hour OptiBook Carrier Training Sessions to provide practical guidance on using the new platform.

These will be held on Tuesday, 17 November at 11am AEDT and Thursday, 26 November at 1.30pm AEDT. OneStop will email registration links for these sessions to transport operators ahead of the training dates.

OneStop says OptiBook represents an advancement in landside container management. The system provides enhanced visibility into container availability and integrates with the OneStop Deliver App, giving landside operators real-time access to timeslot bookings and manifest information.

OneStop developed OptiBook in close consultation with landside operators, incorporating industry feedback to ensure a practical and efficient solution. “Patrick Terminals - Sydney AutoStrad completes the picture,” OneStop COO Chris Harnett said.

“With all major terminals on one booking system, we can give transport operators and their systems a single, connected way to book, and that’s the foundation for much of what we’re building next.”

Bruce Guy, Sydney terminal manager, said OptiBook gives Sydney AutoStrad a fully supported booking system for the long term, while maintaining the efficiencies on which customers relied.

“We will continue to work closely with landside operators to make the transition as smooth as possible," Mr Guy said.

Transport operators will shortly receive documentation and support materials for the transition to the new booking system, along with detailed instructions for downloading and using the OneStop Deliver App.

Separately, Patrick Terminals has launched Patrick Connect, its custom-designed app specifically for truck drivers, providing real-time information throughout their visit to the terminal.

Patrick Connect delivers step-by-step instructions to drivers, including lane assignment, along with digital access to compliance information such as weigh-in-motion (WIM) results. Terminal operations teams can also send safety notifications and operational updates directly to drivers, reducing the need for in-person communication and supporting self-service access to information they need, when they need it.

The app has completed a successful trial at Patrick Terminals – Sydney AutoStrad and is now ready for roll out to transport operators, with broader onboarding planned over the coming months. Bruce Guy said the app puts the information drivers need directly in their hands, from the moment they arrive at the gate to the moment they leave.

“It’s a practical tool that makes every terminal visit clearer, safer and more efficient,” Mr Guy said.

Patrick says the new app builds on many years of investment in landside technology across its terminals, including improved truck grids, automated gates, truck management systems, and digital booking platforms.
