TASPORTS has appointed Rob Daveney as its new chief financial officer and group executive corporate services.

Mr Daveney is transitioning from his role at Origin Energy, where he had been the divisional CFO of the Asia Pacific LPG business.

TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald described Mr Daveney as a “committed business professional” with more than 20 years’ experience in financial and management roles in major organisations.

“He has experience across a broad range of areas including strategy, business improvement, cost optimisation and audit,” Mr Donald said.

“Rob will be filling a key role as a member of the executive. We are looking forward to officially welcoming him to the team just as much as he is looking forward to leading TasPorts’ Corporate Services division.”

Mr Daveney said growing up in Tasmania drove him to work at TasPorts, which he said plays a crucial role for the state.

“During the interview process when I was getting to know members of the leadership team, I was impressed with their passion for further developing the business,” Mr Daveney said.

“I was also impressed with the company’s values and the way they are being applied to ensure TasPorts is a strong and resilient organisation well placed to support Tasmania’s bright future.”
