THE Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2021 was the place where Austal Australia launched its new service and support capability at its Queensland shipyards.

Austal Queensland comprises the expanded Cairns shipyard and Brisbane shipyard acquired from BSE Solutions in December 2020.

Austal Australia’s head of Queensland Shipyards Phil Growden announced that the Cairns and Brisbane shipyards were fully operational and ready to service and support any superyachts or commercial ships operating in Australian waters and beyond.

“Austal Cairns has the Pacific region’s largest mobile boat hoist, with a 1120-tonne lifting capacity that is ideal for servicing a wide variety of superyachts, commercial ships and patrol boats up to 60 metres in length,” Mr Growden said.

“Our shipyard in Brisbane is one of the largest on the east coast of Australia and includes a 2500-tonne rail slipway capable of servicing ships up to 100 metres in length and 22-metre beam.

“Together, our Queensland shipyards offer great capability to deliver quality-assured maintenance, repairs and refit services to private and commercial vessel owners and operators.”

The range of engineering support services are delivered by experienced technicians following ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance systems, certified to DNV and LR standards.
