The Bradfield Bulletin - 21st November

Written by Amanda Bradfield | Nov 20, 2025 8:15:00 PM

I’M SURE there are quite a few sore heads around this morning after the DCN - Daily Cargo News Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards last night. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!

The room was full of chatter and smiles. Nights like these remind us how strong we are when we show up for each other and celebrate the people who keep this industry moving. Congratulations also to the organisers, I am sure that bringing it all together was no easy feat!

Now, onto shipping. If you’re not busy, you might be doing something wrong. Most shipping lines are reporting full schedules into next month. While vessel arrivals around Christmas have eased off, some southbound services remain booked out through to the end of the year.

Northbound (exports) have also picking up, with grain certainly keeping things moving at pace.

Rates are holding steady across the board, and, with this kind of volume, we don’t expect them to drop anytime soon.

So, what else is happening out there?

Today’s picture features the X-Press Dhaulagiri, in Fremantle over the last few days. She’s a smaller visitor, 169.99m LOA, 28m beam, and roughly 1,750 TEU. And a fun fact for you! She was once known as Mount Nicholson. For now, she seems to be an ad hoc call.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
