AUCKLAND-based South Pacific logistics specialist Transam has acquired fellow New Zealand freight forwarder Davies International.

Transam, the freight forwarding division of Neptune Pacific Direct Line and also part of the Wonderful Company, says Davies International’s  highly-respected expertise in airfreight, customs brokerage, transport, and freight forwarding will complement and strengthen Transam’s own fully-integrated network, “expanding the possibilities for seamless end-to-end supply chain solutions for customers across the region”.

“For over four decades, Davies has built its reputation on reliability and relationships across New Zealand’s freight community,” Transam MD Rolf Rasmussen said. “This acquisition is about building on our existing capabilities and unlocking more supply chain management options for our customers.”

“Davies International’s experience and relationships complement our services, helping us to deliver smarter, more connected logistics solutions while maintaining our excellent customer service.”

The integration also honours the legacies and trusted partnerships of both companies, Mr Rasmussen said, and there will be no changes to staffing or day-to-day operations. All Davies employees have accepted new employment terms with Transam, ensuring continuity for colleagues, customers, and partners and maintaining the high service standards both companies are known for.

Davies MD Larrry Davies said: “I’ve devoted my career to this business, and joining Transam feels like the natural next chapter. Our values align, our strengths complement one another, and together we can achieve more than either of us could alone. I’m proud of what we’ve built and even more excited about the future.”

Transam, like NPDL part of the Wonderful Company, has an international network of agencies in Europe, Asia and North America, with offices in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Singapore, and the West Coast of the United States. It operates on a Cargowise platform that provides transparency and data to enable end-to-end supply chain management, with services delivered by experienced in-house teams.

Founded in 1976 Davies International has offices in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, supported by a global agency network, Davies delivers flexible, reliable, and personalized service tailored to time-sensitive or specialized cargo needs across New Zealand and beyond.

The move continues some consolidation in the NZ forwarding sector, with DP World recently acquiring Famous Pacific Shipping.
