CHAIR of the Freight and Logistics Council of WA (FLCWA) board, Megan McCracken, praised for her role during COVID-19 and her work on strengthening the resilience of the east-west freight system, and refreshing the state's regional freight strategy, is to step down.
Under her leadership the FLCWA provided COVID-19 pandemic support via the opening of pop-up vaccination clinics at transport hubs across Perth.
Megan McCracken has served as FLCWA chair since June 2021 and is to step down in May.
Minister assisting the minister for transport Jessica Stojkovski has acknowledged Ms McCracken for her significant contribution.
FLCWA represents industry and advises government on strategic freight and logistics activities.
A state government media release said Ms McCracken’s achievements during her term have included refreshing the purpose and strategic direction of the FLCWA and prioritising and improving stakeholder and member engagement across all freight transport modes.
“The FLCWA was established in March 2009 and meets bi-monthly to discuss and progress issues of strategic importance to the state's freight and logistics sector and activities,” the release said.
Ms McCracken's successor is to be appointed soon.
Ms Stojkovski praised Ms McCracken for “her significant contribution in the role over the past five years”.
"I would like to thank Ms McCracken for the expertise and advice she has provided to our government as FLCWA chair over the past five years," she said.
"The efficient movement of freight is critical to the daily functioning of WA households, businesses and our economy and her endeavours have ensured we have a strong voice on industry on matters affecting the supply chain.”
