FORMER Maersk executive My Therese Blank has announced has begun a new role with airline Jetstar.
Ms Blank, who worked in several roles for the giant shipping company during the past two decades, had been head of Maersk’s Oceania division since October 2020.
In a statement on her social media profile, Ms Blank said she was excited to share that she had started “a new chapter as head of pricing and revenue management at Jetstar Airways”.
“I'm grateful to join an amazing company with high energy, a strong focus on customer outcomes and a passion for innovation and technology to lead the aviation industry into the future,” she wrote.
“Big thanks to the amazing team at Maersk for the opportunities to learn and grow and make an impact during the past 19 years.”
Ms Blank has been chairperson of Shipping Australia since the start of the 2025 calendar year.
Meanwhile K Line Australia general manager Phillip Holmes has taken over as SAL chair.
A Shipping Australia spokesperson thanked Ms Blank for her “valuable contribution”.
“We thank Therese for her contribution and wish her all the best in the world of aviation,” a SAL spokesperson said.
CoastalBridge director James Kurz was among those to praise Ms Blank, wishing Ms Blank “all the best” in her new adventure, while John Park of the Freight and Trade Alliance said it was “great to see you in a new role best wishes”.
Ms Blank’s replacement in the role of head of Oceania market is Hamza Hioul, a 17-year Maersk veteran with experience across many roles in management across North Africa, China and the Middle East and in company headquarters.
Most recently Mr Hioul was the leader of the Oceania Contract Product team and based in Australia since 2022.
