Qube Ports announces new features in Inbound Connect

QUBE Ports says it is “pleased to announce” new features in Inbound Connect aimed at further improving the interface between their port operations and the transport operators who pick up and drop off containers at their facility.

“These enhancements provide greater visibility of container status and are intended to help transport operators minimise unnecessary trips, ensuring trucks only arrive for containers that are customs clear and ready for collection,” Qube stated.

Key new features included real-time container status at the time of booking and automatic updates after booking.

When creating a timeslot booking, customers will be advised if a container is customs held or customs clear at that time,” Qube stated.

“While bookings can still be created for customs held containers, operators are reminded that containers must be clear before sending a truck to our terminal.

“If the status of a booked container changes, transport companies will now be automatically notified.”

Notifications are to be sent via email, in-app alerts, and mobile push messages (if using the Inbound Connect mobile app).

Automatic notifications are now generated by the following scenarios:

  1. Status was unknown → now customs clear
  2. Status was unknown → now customs held
  3. Status was not customs clear → now is customs clear
  4. Status was customs clear → now not customs clear

“These improvements aim to provide the transport community with timely, accurate updates that reduce wasted time, improve planning, and strengthen operational efficiency across the Darwin Port,” Qube stated.

“Qube Ports thanks all transport operators for their ongoing collaboration and looks forward to delivering further initiatives that improve the efficiency of our shared operations.”
