SMARTER, faster and more sustainable freight management solutions are the stated benefits of digital platform iCON, launched this week by logistics giant Toll Group.

The name iCON is short for information control, the concept being Toll Group’s digital freight management platform that provides forwarding customers with “end-to-end visibility and control over their supply chain”.

For almost two decades, iCON is said to have helped businesses simplify complex logistics processes with a range of freight management tools.

The latest enhancements are said to make the platform even more powerful and intuitive.

Features are said to include:

  • Improved accessibility to shipment, container, and purchase order tracking via the new modern, user-friendly, and highly customisable interface.
Greater convenience with a more intuitive workflow for submitting bookings, deliveries, and documents.
    • A smoother user experience as the new infrastructure enables faster loading and enhanced responsiveness across the system.
    • More reliable information and insights with higher data refresh frequencies.

New capabilities are:

  • Overview Dashboard: offers customers a comprehensive overview of all their shipments and exceptions.
    • Emissions tracker: monitors the carbon emissions from shipments.
    • Advanced analytics: analyses the customer’s historical spend, volume, transit time, and other critical shipping metrics.
    • Delivery calendar: enables customers to manage and view all their deliveries easily.

The iCON concept is built by a dedicated in-house team using modern technologies.

“iCON was created to meet growing demand for smarter, faster freight management. It’s a comprehensive, intuitive platform that streamlines supply chain operations, so our customers can focus on growing their business,” said Michelle Shirton, global head of digital at Toll Global Forwarding.

According to Toll Group, existing users have now been migrated to the latest version.
