FULFILLING customers’ regional and global growth ambitions is a key objective of Toll Group’s acquisition of forwarder Transolve Global.

Transolve is an Australian specialist in the forwarding of wine, bulk liquids and perishables.

The acquisition is said to enhance Toll Global Forwarding's ability to offer innovative solutions to an expanded customer base, providing enhanced services, offering new solutions to existing customers and serving as an alternative service provider for sectors requiring these specialised services.

The acquisition is also expected to allow Transolve's customers to benefit from Toll's extensive international network and gain access to a broader range of logistics services.

Transolve chief executive Rachael Budd is to lead the new business unit and join the Toll Global Forwarding leadership team as senior vice president Transolve, bringing “invaluable expertise and leadership”, according to a Toll statement.

"We are very excited about Transolve becoming part of Toll," said Suhail Qureshi, Toll Global Forwarding interim president.

"The Transolve team has built impressive capabilities that will significantly enhance our customer solutions for customers and drive our growth in our strategic verticals.”

Transolve chief executive Rachael Budd said they were “thrilled to be a part of Toll Group”.

“This acquisition amplifies our capabilities and expands our reach, enabling us to deliver more value to our customers in the wine, bulk liquids, and food & beverage sectors,” Ms Budd said.

“This acquisition marks a significant step in Toll Group's commitment to supporting its customers' regional and global growth ambitions.”

It has been a time of change for Toll Group which recently announced that Alan Beacham would be stepping down from his role as group managing director, effective from 1 July.

Thomas Knudsen, currently Toll Group chair, has been appointed executive chair in the interim to provide continuity while the Board concludes the search for a new managing director.

Mr Beacham has held several roles at Toll during the last seven years, including president of Toll Global Express.
