OCEAN Network Express has announced plans to install telematic devices across its reefer fleet.

The devices would allow ONE to monitor conditions in reefer containers, such as temperature and humidity.

ONE said the telematic devices would also improve its decision making around cargo handling and enable it to provide more detailed information about the condition of cargo.

ONE said the insights would enhance its existing suit of reefer services and ensure refrigerated cargo arrives in optimal condition.

“The installation of telematic devices on our reefer box fleet is a testament to our unwavering dedication to enhancing customer experience while driving digital transformation in the containerized reefer trade,” ONE senior vice president, strategic yield management Kenichi Michida said.

“We believe technology-enabled containers are the future of shipping, and we are excited to embark on this next step in our digital transformation journey using cutting-edge solutions to benefit our customers and industry.”

ONE believes the investment demonstrates its position as a leading container carrier for refrigerated goods.
