Toll Group has appointed Matthew Warrington president of the group’s Global Forwarding division.

Mr Warrington joined Toll 18 months ago to lead the company’s strategy function.

During his time in the role, it is understood Mr Warrington oversaw the divestment of Toll Global Express, which recently became Team Global Express.

Mr Warrington has more than 30 years of experience in contract logistics and freight forwarding, having worked on customer and operator sides of global companies including Linfox, BevChain, Visy Group and GrainCorp.

Prior to joining Toll, he was a partner and director at the Boston Consulting Group, leading the supply chain practice area for Australia and New Zealand.

Alan Beacham, group managing director at Toll Group, said Mr Warrington has a proven track record in delivering results in a competitive industry.

“I am confident that our customers and team members are in good hands as Matthew builds on our growth momentum,” he said.

And Mr Warrington said he is delighted to support the business and customers in a changing market.

“I’m excited to lead to the business as we implement new digital solutions and plan to expand into new markets, which will benefit our customers and help deliver our next phase of growth.”

Toll’s Global Forwarding division provides international freight forwarding across a network spanning 150 countries, with an annual revenue of $3 billion.
