GEELONGPORT has been recognised globally for its environment, social and governance work with a five-star rating in the 2021 GRESB Infrastructure Assessment.

The GRESB Assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of asset investments, and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals and emerging regulations. GeelongPort was rated in the top quintile for its sector in 2021.

GeelongPort CEO Brett Winter said GeelongPort has placed third when benchmarked against 22 other global port companies for 2021 in only the second year of GRESB participation.

“The GRESB Infrastructure Assessment provides a robust assessment tool which allows GeelongPort to benchmark its ESG progress against our peers, and it’s incredible to know we’re considered a leader in this field,” he said.

“GeelongPort takes its environmental, social and governance responsibility very seriously, and we have developed strategies, policies and frameworks to support our goal of being sector leader in this area.”

Mr Winter said he is proud of the GeelongPort team members who are always looking at ways to improve ESG performance.

“It is their dedication that has contributed to this remarkable achievement, and we look forward to maintaining and growing our high GRESB rating in the future.”

GRESB CEO Sebastien Roussotte said it is inspiring to see such a high level of dedication from the industry.

“Across the globe, organisations are demonstrating a deep commitment to ESG integration while making important strides towards a more sustainable future for us all,” he said.
