FREIGHT forwarder Mondiale VGL is joining ANL’s Reef Recovery Program – every TEU from Mondiale VGL that ANL transports will see a contribution made to the program.

The initiative, launched in 2020, aims to help the Great Barrier Reef regenerate and help alleviate coral bleaching.

ANL started the Reef Recovery Program as a partnership with the Reef Restoration Foundation. Since its launch, several of ANL’s clients have pledged their assistance to the program that supports two coral nurseries: the Moore Reef Nursery, and one near Fitzroy Island.

The contributions from Mondiale VGL will go directly to the Moore Reef Nursery.

ANL managing director Shane Walden said there has never been a more important time than now to support the rehabilitation of the Great Barrier Reef.

“It’s a vital part of Australia’s ecosystem and the support of businesses like Mondiale VGL only further grows the ability and scope of assistance,” he said.

“We’re very pleased environmentally conscious organisations like themselves have decided to contribute to the Reef Recovery Program, their aid will be a valuable contribution to the restoration of one of Australia’s most significant underwater ecosystems.”

Mondiale VGL CEO Ray Meade said he was proud to get behind the Reef Recovery Program.

“Tying our participation to our shipping volumes means that we’ll see our contribution rise in tandem with business growth. It’s an arrangement quite unique to our sector, and we applaud the initiative,” he said.

“The wider Mondiale VGL team and I are looking forward to seeing the tangible impact of our support as the Great Barrier Reef is restored.”
