TASMANIA’S exports for the year to October 2018 showed marked increases compared to the previous year.

The value Apple Isle’s exports increased by 19.5% in the 12 months to October when compared to the same period the previous year.

Over the 12 months, exports from Tasmania totalled $3.7bn.

China remained the top destination for goods from the state, with $1bn of Tasmania’s exports headed to the country.

Malaysia was the second-largest destination with $394m and Japan came in third with $345m.
