LYTTELTON Port Company has announced the appointment of Auckland barrister Maria Dew QC to review their workplace culture.

This follows serious allegations raised both internally and in the press, notably claims of bullying linked with a case of self-harm.

In May 2020, Lyttelton Port Company announced they would be appointing a reviewer.

The review terms of reference cover allegations relating to bullying, racial and sexual discrimination, harassment, and unfair selection of family members for jobs.

The period covered is between January 2017 and June 2020.

According to LPC, the review is open to any current and former staff or contractors of LPC who wish to come forward with relevant information.

A period of 14 days is to be available for participants to register their wish to be interviewed, from July 24 to August 7.

The review is to assess workplace culture and make recommendations for change at LPC.

“We will share the decisions that come out of this process, and begin to work on change as soon as possible,” LPC said in a statement.
