REDUCING road transport fatalities is the central aim of the 2019/20 edition of the Transport & Logistics Industry Guide to Workplace Safety, prepared by Pro-Visual Publishing.

According to the publishers, road transport has been identified as a national priority under The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012-2022 due to the high number of fatalities.

They noted there were 208 road transport work-related fatalities between 2012 and 2016.

The guide explores several topics on workplace safety including:

  • Safety Management Systems and the Heavy Vehicle National Law;
  • The chain of responsibility;
  • Fatigue risk management; and
  • Maintenance

The guide is said to be digitally interactive with an augmented realty component and by using the AR app, workers can scan over content to access further safety information.
