CONTAINERCHAIN says all its applications have been restored and are “in production” as of 3am on Monday 19 October.

This follows a well-documented cyberattack involving ransomware on Friday evening.

“We are assisting customers if they need support changing their passwords,” a Containerchain spokesperson told DCN.

“No ransom was paid and we did not contact the cyber attackers.”

Container Transport Alliance Australia director Neil Chambers said there would have been “significant delays” if the container logistics chain had to revert to manual processing.

“Thankfully, that need was largely averted,” Mr Chambers said.

“I think it demonstrates again just how reliant we have become on technology systems, and the turmoil that is likely if, or when, those systems have outages.”
