TRANSPORT, logistics and rural supply company Lindsay Australia has acquired merchandise company WB Hunter for $34.6 million.

The company sells agricultural supplies and supporting services. It has seven stores in Victoria and one store in New South Wales.

In an ASX statement, Lindsay said the acquisition would expand its rural merchandising network.

Lindsay acting chief executive Craig Baker said WHB Hunter is a longstanding and successful operation history and serves as an integral member of Australia’s supplies market.

“The acquisition expands Lindsay’s presence in key growth markets of Victoria and New South Wales and provides a strong platform for pursuing further growth opportunities across these regions,” he said.

In its ASX statement, the company said its Lindsay Rural subsidiary is a key component of its end-to-end food supply chain system, which supplies more than 1500 farmers with agricultural products such as packaging, fertilisers, chemicals, nutrients and irrigation equipment.
