THE words of Jeanine Drummond, at last year’s 2018 DCN Australian Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards, are a timely reminder not to back away from the challenges of creating greater gender diversity in our workplaces.

Ms Drummond was the inaugural winner of the Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics Award.

Thanking those who supported her, Ms Drummond said “the industry has really embraced what diversity and inclusion can do”.

“I really see that we are progressing,” she said.

“Embrace what this can do for this industry and be bold in some of the things that need to happen to embrace what diversity can do for each and every one of your organisations.”
