THE TASPORTS Community Grant Program has invested nearly $200,000 into projects around the state, and it has just announced this year’s 15 recipients in its fifth funding round.
TasPorts chief executive officer Anthony Donald said: “We are pleased to announce our partnership with 15 organisations and initiatives that benefit communities surrounding our port operations and across Tasmania”.
Mr Donald said the program has a positive impact it has had on Tasmanian communities.
“I am proud of TasPorts’ ability to support such a diverse array of community endeavours, from the purchase of marine safety equipment to supporting environmental initiatives within our port areas, and the facilitation of local events through our Community Grant Program,” Mr Donald said.
In the recent round, a total of $50,000 in funding, along with $10,000 worth of in-kind support, was awarded to 15 diverse recipients which demonstrated a strong alignment with TasPorts’ key community focus areas.

- Geilston Bay Boat Club: Jetty deck renewal project
- Invasive Seastar Clean Up – Tasmania: Clean Up equipment purchases
- Julie Burgess Inc: Replacement of Mizzen cloth for Julie Burgess Tall Sailing Ship
- Marine Rescue Ulverstone: Training equipment – Water Rescue Overboard Manikins
