SWIRE Projects completed its first voyage to Western Australia, delivering 88 ore cars to BHP at Port Hedland.

The heavy lift division of Swire Shipping used its 19,000 DWT tonne multipurpose vessel Johnnie Bryan for the voyage.

It carried the train cars from Dalian, China and completed discharge operations at Port Hedland in January.

Swire Projects said the voyage marked a “major milestone for the company as it looks to expand its services to Western Australia.

The company said it plans to position more vessels on regular sailings to the region in the near term.

Swire Projects general manager Namir Khanbabi said, “We look forward to providing our clients with the highest level of service as we expand our presence in the region”.
