MEMBERS of the Western Australian WISTA chapter experienced the fascination of a realistic, interactive mock-up of a ship’s bridge and controls as part of a visit to the Fremantle Maritime Simulation Centre.

In a simulated marine environment with fully programmable weather, managing director Captain Rory Main explained and demonstrated the operation of the centre’s world class simulators.

This sophisticated technology is used for training ship masters, marine pilots, tug masters and other maritime professionals on vessel handling in all conditions.
