AN EMPLOYEE of Qube has died after an incident at the company’s forestry-harvesting operation in the Fleurieu Peninsula on Monday (18 September), according to an ASX announcement from the company.

Qube said it is working with South Australian Police, SafeWork SA “and other relevant authorities” investigating the incident.

SA Police confirmed a man died following a “workplace accident” in Parawa on Monday.

In a statement, SA Police said emergency services rushed to a property on Range Road at Parawa just after 1430 on Monday.

The 59-year-old man from Strathalbyn was killed while moving tree logs in a harvesting vehicle, according to the statement.

SA Police is preparing a report for the coroner.

Parawa is about 85 kilometres south of Adelaide.

Qube managing director Paul Digney said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a colleague during an incident at our South Australian forestry harvesting operations”.
