NEWCASTLE tug captain Stephen Monfries has retired after 47 years, and his colleagues gave him a send-off not to be forgotten.
After assisting his last vessel in the Port of Newcastle, other tugs in the port gathered to do doughnuts in a farewell performance.
There was even a bagpiper at the stern of one of the tugs.
