PACIFIC International Lines has introduced a new weekly direct service connecting key ports in China, Vietnam, Singapore, and India.
The route will be serviced by a consortium of vessels deployed by PIL, Regional Container Lines, and Interasia Lines.
The new route calls at Chennai and Visakhapatnam on India’s east coast.
Known as the China Vietnam India Service, the new service will commence on 22 April from Ningbo, China.
The vessels expected to sail the route will have an average capacity of 2200 TEUs.
The new service is part of PIL’s efforts to increase its presence in India and expand its coverage by through additional connection between China, Vietnam, South East Asia and the east coast of India.
“As a Singapore home grown shipping line, PIL’s strength lies in our connectivity within Asia, as well as between Asia and other key regions in the world,” PIL chief trade officer Tonnie Lim said.
“This new service to India’s east coast reflects our confidence in the growth potential of India, and our commitment to continue to seek new opportunities to expand our network into India,” he said.
The CVI service will call at Ningbo, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Port Kelang.
