GERMAN logistics company Dachser has acquired ACA International, an air and sea freight forwarding company headquartered in Melbourne.

A statement from Dachser said it would incorporate the company into its own Air & Sea Logistics (ASL) network, extending its network to Australia and New Zealand.

ACA employs 56 people across its six offices. It has offices in Sydney and Brisbane in Australia; and in New Zealand the company is present in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton. ACA International also has a branch office in Kansas City. The company is also present in the greater China region, but the Chinese locations are not part of the acquisition.

ACA International generated revenue of about €75 million in 2021. It was founded in 1982 and is privately owned.

For the past 14 years, ACA International has been led by experienced air and sea freight logistics specialist Adam Cruttenden, Glenn Hall, Mark Weeks and Hervey Graham.

Mr Cruttenden will be taking on the role of managing director Dachser’s ASL Oceania.

Dachser ASL COO and managing director ASL APAC Edoardo Podestà said the acquisition lets Dachser Air & Sea Logistics continue on its growth trajectory and, by adding Australia and New Zealand.

“[The acquisition] fills a gap in the global network of our own locations,” Mr Podestà said.

“That means we can offer our customers seamless access to dynamic economic markets that boast attractive local conditions and significant levels of investment.”
