DP WORLD Australia this week welcomed five new Kalmar rubber tyred gantries at its Port Botany terminal.

The company said the equipment – an investment of $35 million – would double the size of its fleet of cranes and improve efficiency at the terminal.

The RTGs have a lifting capacity of 41 tonnes and can handle 20-foot and 40-foot boxes.

The five RTGs were delivered fully assembled and pre-commissioned. They are expected to be fully operational by mid-April.

DP World Australia CEO Andrew Adam said the company develops new services and capability to unlock trade.

“The continued investment in our infrastructure will not only boost productivity and service reliability for our customers, but also reinforces our ability to deliver consistent operational performance to service the Australian market and contribute to local economic growth and competitiveness,” he said.
