WILHELMSEN Ships Service has completed the acquisition of cargo hold cleaning specialist Stromme.

The company is to transfer all its employees, business and assets to Wilhelmsen. Stromme is to retain its brand but operate as a fully owned subsidiary of Wilhelmsen Ships Service.

When established in 1971, Stromme was the first specialised cargo hold cleaning company in the marine industry, according to a media statement from the company.

“It is business as usual for now, with both Stromme and Ships Service operating as standalone companies,” Wilhelmsen said in a statement.

“Moving forward, the two teams will spend an initial period together to learn and join forces and define how the best of both Stromme and Ships Service can be combined.”

Wilhelmsen Ships Service is active in 2000 ports in more than 100 countries.
