THE CLOCK is ticking with less than five weeks to get in your nominations for the 30th annual DCN Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards night. As extra motivation, DCN is putting the spotlight on the award themselves – what it takes to win and what it means to those who proudly display their trophy.
One of the most fiercely contested titles, the Customs Broker of the Year Award, is open to all regulated entities or individuals who hold a current customs broking licence. This award is judged based on excellence in both customer service and regulatory compliance in the areas of customs, biosecurity and transport security. Judges will be looking for entries that clearly demonstrate nominees going beyond the call of duty for their customers while achieving everyday excellence.
DCN is delighted to announce that IFCBAA will return as the 2025 sponsors of this award, continuing their strong support in recognising leadership and high standards in customs brokerage.
"IFCBAA is proud to once again sponsor the prestigious Customs Broker of the Year Award at the upcoming 2025 DCN Shipping & Maritime Awards,” said CEO Scott Carson.
“By sponsoring the Customs Broker of the Year Award, IFCBAA is proud to recognise and celebrate the achievements of all customs brokers who play such a vital role in Australia’s trade and logistics industry.”
The 2024 winner of the Customs Broker of the Year Award was IFC Global, which has shown dedication to excellence and client savings, making them a powerful candidate for this award. With more than 30 years of expertise, IFC has set a high standard in customs brokerage, helping secure upwards of $90,000 in duty refunds for clients through proactive audits and leveraging trade agreements. Their commitment to detail and proactive client support highlights their leadership in the sector.
IFC Global customs manager, Elvis Bernard, said earning the award in a year when IFC celebrated 30 years as a Corporate Licensed broker made it all the more special.
“Winning this award has increased our customers trust with their businesses,” Mr Bernard said.
“As for myself, having been personally involved, it was a reward for the last 20 years of being a licensed Customs broker.”
Mr Bernard said the award was also meaningful given the vital role played by customs brokers in facilitating international trade.
“Winning this award made a huge difference in our marketing and sales strategy. IFC staff in general were so proud to be part of it as this was a team achievement,” Mr Bernard concluded.
