THERE are only six days left to submit your DCN Awards nomination (and that includes the weekend!). To get you motivated, DCN is showcasing another of the awards categories—this week shining the spotlight on the Freight Forwarder of the Year Award.
This award recognises companies displaying excellence in freight forwarding, in terms of service and efficiency across sea, air, road or rail freight. It aims to acknowledge freight forwarders and the teams who excel in the sector.
Judges will be looking for entries that clearly demonstrate—through quantifiable examples—how nominees go above and beyond, demonstrate excellence, and genuinely make a difference to their clients’ businesses and to the overall efficiency of freight movement.
DCN is delighted to announce that FTA will return as the 2025 sponsor of this award. A spokesperson said: “Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) is proud to sponsor the Freight Forwarder of the Year category at the DCN – Daily Cargo News Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards 2025.”
The DCN Awards are the premier national event recognising excellence across the supply chain and international trade sectors. By sponsoring this award, FTA continues its commitment to supporting the freight forwarding community and highlighting its essential role in facilitating Australia’s global trade and supply chain resilience.
The 2024 winner of the Freight Forwarder of the Year was Australian Coastal Shipping, which impressed the judging panel with its dedication to customer care and adaptability as a domestic freight forwarder. From its base in regional South Australia, ACS achieved remarkable growth. Known for personalised support and clear communication, ACS showed strong examples of prioritising partnerships. Their customer-focused approach made them a standout in freight forwarding and a worthy recipient of the award.
A spokesperson from ACS said: “We were thrilled to be nominated for the DCN Freight Forwarder of the Year Award in 2024. I view the DCN Awards as the pinnacle of awards in our industry. We were excited to make the list of finalists and extremely proud to be awarded the winners by the judging panel, in front of an excellent list of finalists. It was a hugely enjoyable evening. On a personal level, a highlight was the interview during the presentations with one of our directors, Tom Pinder, touching on his 65 years (and counting!) in the industry.”
Nominations close on Wednesday 24th September, so if you know a freight forwarder who has gone above and beyond, submit your nomination by 24th September at dcnawards.com.au
