TODAY is the day to get your nominations in for the 30th annual DCN Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards (if you haven’t already!) –with nominations closing at 5pm AEDT (Wednesday 24th). As we reach this final day in the nomination countdown, we’re shining a spotlight on the Port or Terminal of the Year Award
This award celebrates excellence in port and terminal operations, recognising achievements in development projects, technical innovation, management, and commercial success.
DCN is delighted to confirm that Svitzer is once again sponsoring this important category, underlining its ongoing commitment to supporting leaders who drive operational and commercial excellence in Australia’s ports and terminals.
A Svitzer spokesperson said the DCN Awards remain a highlight on the industry calendar.
“It’s a privilege to be part of an event that recognises our customers and peers for their outstanding efforts. Supporting the awards is a meaningful way to celebrate excellence and to promote a sector that is vital to keeping our economy moving and maintaining our quality of life.”
Last year, the Port of Townsville took home the award. Judges highlighted its handling of more than $12 billion in commodities, combined with a strong commitment to sustainability through solar installations and renewable energy initiatives, which positioned the port as a forward-thinking industry leader.
Port of Townsville CEO Ranee Crosby said the award reflected “the dedication, hard work and passion of our staff and customers who proudly service our region.”
She added it was “a particular honour to celebrate this milestone in the Port’s 160th year, as we completed the $251 million Channel Upgrade project – the largest infrastructure project in our history.”
