FOR AAL Shipping, winning last year's award was “a proud moment” for the company and “recognition of the expertise, dedication, and hard work of our teams around the world”.

The special honour was presented at the DCN Australian Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards in Sydney last year.
Ahead of the 2026 event in Brisbane, AAL head of communications John Pittalis looked back on the significance of last year’s award.
“As a company with deep Australian roots and a long-standing presence in the country, the award held particular significance for our Oceania team, whose efforts continue to support Australia's mining, energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects,” Mr Pittalis said. “The transportation of project cargoes, heavy-lift equipment and specialised freight is often one of the most challenging areas of shipping, yet it plays a critical role in enabling economic development and supporting the industries that keep Australia growing and globally competitive.
“Awards such as this help raise awareness of the important contribution made by the bulk and specialised shipping sector and the people who keep these complex supply chains moving.”
For AAL, the recognition provided a tremendous boost to team morale and reinforced our commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and safe transport solutions for our customers.
“Over the past year, our Australian team has continued to support major energy, mining and infrastructure developments across the region, and this award serves as a reminder that the success of such projects depends on strong partnerships between cargo owners, forwarders, ports, logistics providers, and specialist carriers,” Mr Pittalis said.
“We remain incredibly honoured to have received this award and thank Daily Cargo News and the judging panel for recognising AAL's contribution to the Australian shipping and logistics industry.”
