The event, led by the powerhouse trio of Sherie Le Brun (Direct Couriers), Emma Cribbin (Navia Freight) and John Park (Freight & Trade Alliance), has fast become a highlight on the WA shipping calendar. More than a glitzy evening, the Ball is a true example of what happens when our industry comes together with a shared purpose, to give back.
This year, the Ball raised over $15,000 for Ruah’s Luminos Project, an early intervention centre supporting young people experiencing suicidal thoughts. These funds will help provide safe accommodation, specialised care, and hope for some of our most vulnerable young people.
“Our community is awesome - even more incredible is when we work hard to make it a great night and have so many people champion the event year after year,” said co-organiser Sherie Le Brun.
John Park echoed the sentiment: “Our industry is proud to be able to support local charities.”
From freight forwarders to transport operators, customs brokers to maritime professionals, everyone played a part. Through raffles, auctions, and generous donations, the night once again proved that collaboration is what makes this industry tick.
The WA International Trade Ball continues to be more than just a date on the calendar, it’s a reminder of the power of connection, and how much we can achieve when we come together.
Some of us might be competitors in business, but when it comes to causes like this, we stand side by side, united by a common goal, a shared pride in our industry, and a genuine commitment to giving back.
