THE CMA CGM Group has moved quickly to replace Shane Walden, who resigned last week after more than a quarter of a century with ANL, the last six-plus as managing director.

In mid-2023 he added CMA CGM Group Agencies Oceania to his responsibilities.

In an announcement his afternoon [25 May] the Group said it has appointed Esra Bora as managing director of ANL Container Line Pty Ltd and general manager of CMA CGM Oceania agencies, based in Melbourne.

In her new position, Esra Bora will oversee the Group’s activities across the Oceania region, as well as the strategy and operations of ANL Container Line Pty Ltd.

“Esra Bora brings more than 18 years of experience in the maritime industry, including over eight years within the CMA CGM Group. Since joining the Group as General Manager in Türkiye, she has held several commercial and regional leadership roles in Marseille and across Asia.

“Her career notably includes serving as general manager of the Vietnam cluster and, most recently, as gneral manager of CMA CGM China,” the Group said.

Esra Bora will begin her transition into the new role on 1 June 2026.

As previously noted, Mr Walden joined ANL after completing his degree at Monash University in 1999 and served across several trade management roles before being appointed MD in 2020.
