CMA CGM said on Monday it had detected a “leak of data on limited customer information”.

The company said the compromised information includes “first and last names, employer, position, email address and phone number”.

“There has been no operational impact on the group’s activities,” the company said in a media statement.

The leak was detected during “surveillance operations on the group’s APIs [application programming interfaces]”, the company said.

“The IT teams have immediately developed and installed security patches, and surveillance of all our APIs has been strengthened.”

The company said its customers had been informed and “invited to strengthen the level of security to access their accounts while remaining vigilant to any suspicious activity”.

Last year, CMA CGM was subject to a significant cyberattack, which brought down the company’s website and that of subsidiaries such as ANL.
