SVITZER Australia has appointed chartered engineer, Hannah Crowther as its new general manager – West.

Ms Crowther will be based out of Fremantle.

A LinkedIn post from Svitzer said as well as her engineering background, Ms Crowther was a former army officer and an experienced executive with a strong track record in transport, infrastructure, and defence.

“Most recently, she led the transport portfolio for VIC, SA, and WA at Kellogg Brown & Root, contributing to major public infrastructure programs,” the post said.

Ms Crowther is spending time across WA ports to connect with Svitzer’s teams and customers.

“While she’s new to maritime operations, Hannah brings a clear focus on safety, service delivery, and customer engagement—and we’re thrilled to have her on board,” the post said.

Ms Crowther steps into the role previously held by Tully Barnes who has joined Fremantle Ports as general manager of operations.
