SWIRE Projects has undertaken four voyages to transport 30 sets of wind turbine generators from Tianjin, Taicang, Nantong, and Dongzao Ports in China to Henderson in Western Australia.

The shipments are for the Warradarge Stage 2 Wind Farm, which in 2027 will become WA’s biggest wind farm.

A media release from Swire said Warradarge is a major renewable energy expansion located 200 kilometres north of Perth.

“This project forms part of Australia’s investment in onshore wind power, aimed at increasingrenewable generation capacity and advancing national decarbonisation goals,” the release said.

“The multi‑origin loading strategy required careful coordination to ensure schedule reliability and consistency across shipments.

“Each turbine features an 84 metre hub height, a 136 metre rotor diameter, and a maximum blade tip height of 152 metres, ensuring consistency with the existing infrastructure.”

The Stage 2 expansion will add 30 wind turbines, increasing the wind farm’s total installed capacity from 180 to 283 mw. Once complete it will supply clean energy to about 164,000 households.
