AUSTRALIAN  logistics technology company Mizzen Group has announced it is a finalist in the PIER71TM’s Smart Port Challenge 2021.

The annual Singapore-based Smart Port Challenge calls for start-ups around the world to tackle challenges identified by maritime corporates and advance digital transformation in the industry.

Founded by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the National University of Singapore, through its entrepreneurial arm NUS Enterprise, PIER71TM selected 20 start-ups from over 150 qualified submissions as finalists for the premier Smart Port Challenge this year.

Mizzen’s managing director Jon Charles, said, “We are excited to be a finalist in Smart Port Challenge 2021 and to embark on the highly regarded PIER71TM Accelerate, Singapore’s first market validation and customer discovery program specially curated for the maritime industry.

“We look forward to working with executives leading digital transformation for the maritime industry, and the shipping lines looking to utilise data-driven pricing capabilities.

“It is exciting to be part of the innovative maritime ecosystem that MPA and NUS Enterprise have been building over many years.”

Mizzen’s price optimisation software enables shipping lines to transition from experience and intuition-based selling to data-driven pricing.

Mr Charles said joining PIER71TM Accelerate would help support the company’s growth plans.

“We will be building on our existing products which provide solutions for any stage of a shipping line’s digital transformation, from the first step of launching an online sales capability through to full yield management.”

The winner of PIER71TM’s Smart Port Challenge 2021 will be announced at the Grand Final on 17 November 2021.
