MARINE and subsea services provider MMA Offshore, has been awarded a multi-year vessel support contract from Chevron Australia.
The contract is to provide marine logistical support to Chevron’s Barrow Island and Wheatstone assets off the Western Australian northwest coast.
A media release from MMA, a subsidiary of Cyan Renewables, said it had been awarded the contract for the high-specification platform supply vessel, MMA Plover.
“MMA is pleased to be supporting these assets which are critical producers of natural gas for Western Australia and liquified natural gas (LNG) for the Asia Pacific region, and home to one of the world’s largest carbon capture and storage systems,” the release said..
MMA Plover will undergo an extensive modification program to enable the carriage of up to 90 TEU (20ft-equivalent unit sea containers) and provides what MMA said is superior operational efficiency and reliability.
“Featuring advanced technologies such as high-performance hull coatings leading to reduced biofouling and therefore increased fuel efficiency, the vessel contributes to emissions reductions aspirations for both Cyan and our client.”
Cyan Renewables Group CEO Keng Lin Lee said the contract reflects MMA’s capability to deliver a comprehensive, high-value solution that goes beyond the provision of a vessel.
He said it reinforces the trust and confidence its clients placed in them.
MMA operates 18 vessels internationally with more than 1400 employees at six global locations.
Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, MMA has offices in Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Dubai and the United Kingdom.
