PATRICK Terminals and OneStop are to roll out the OptiBook container‑management platform at Patrick Terminals – Fremantle on Saturday, 5 September, introducing new digital tools designed to improve landside efficiency, container visibility and truck‑slot certainty across the terminal’s supply chain.

OptiBook integrates directly with the OneStop Vehicle Booking System (VBS) and will give transport operators and cargo owners enhanced real‑time visibility of container status, faster access to containers deemed “ready”, and a more streamlined slot‑booking process. The system is designed to reduce manual follow‑ups, improve planning accuracy and support more predictable truck movements through the terminal.

A key feature of the Fremantle launch is the introduction of a new Tagged Run module, developed in response to transport‑operator feedback.

Under the new process, operators will be able to request and manage tagged runs entirely within the OneStop VBS rather than arranging tagging outside the platform. Tagged runs can be requested ahead of discharge and confirmed by Patrick Terminals, creating a single, transparent workflow and giving operators greater certainty when planning fleet utilisation and route scheduling.

To support industry readiness, OneStop and Patrick Terminals hosted an OptiBook Carrier Engagement Forum on 6 August, providing an overview of system functionality and transition requirements. Two one‑hour online training sessions will follow on 27 August and 1 September, with registration links to be emailed to transport operators. Additional documentation and support materials will also be distributed ahead of go‑live, including instructions for downloading and using the OneStop Deliver App.

The go‑live has been deliberately scheduled for a Saturday to minimise disruption, with Patrick noting that weekend operations are typically quieter and provide a smoother environment for system transition.

OneStop chief commercial officer Chris Harnett said OptiBook reflects the company’s broader vision of using data to streamline physical freight movements. “This launch with Patrick Terminals shows what’s possible when technology is designed around how operators actually work, not the other way around,” he said.

Patrick Terminals – Fremantle terminal manager Peter Chesi said the new platform would strengthen the terminal’s landside performance. “OptiBook will provide our landside customers with real‑time visibility of their containers and smarter booking options for transport operators,” he said.

“Launching OptiBook into our Fremantle operations builds on Patrick Terminals’ industry‑leading landside efficiency and continues to strengthen our long‑standing commitment to driving operational excellence across the supply chain.”
