PIL expands intra-Asia offering

SINGAPORE’s Pacific International Lines is linking China, Indonesia and Malaysia with two new services as it expands its intra-Asia coverage.

PIL says it is enhancing connectivity between key ports in China and Indonesia as well as China, Singapore and Malaysia to support growing trade flows across the region.

This is occurring as Drewry and other analysts report intra-Asia rates are hitting new highs as mainline east-west operators look for ways to keep long-distance services on schedule and keep cargo delivery reliable.

Thus PIL says the new services will provide customers with broader market access, competitive transit times and greater flexibility for both dry and reefer cargo, while meeting rising intra-regional trade and growing demand for reliable shipping solutions connecting major manufacturing, consumption and transhipment hubs across Asia.

The enhanced North China Indonesia (NCI) Service will commence on 8 November 2026 from Qingdao and will be served by a consortium of vessels, providing a direct weekly connection between China, Indonesia and Singapore.

The service is strategically designed to support growing trade, and reefer cargo flows between key ports in China and Indonesia, PIL says.

The new China Singapore Malaysia (CSM) Service will get underway on 27 October 2026 from Tianjin, and offer a dedicated weekly link connecting North and South China with Singapore and key gateways in West Malaysia.

It will provide customers with greater access to major industrial and consumer markets in China, Singapore and Malaysia while offering seamless transhipment links through Singapore to PIL's extensive global network.

Rita Wong, GM Intra-Asia Services, PI, said Asia continued to be a key engine of global trade growth “and we are seeing increasing demand for efficient and reliable connectivity within the region".

"These new services strengthen PIL's regional network, enhance connectivity to our broader global services, and support customers in capitalising on expanding trade opportunities across Asia," Ms Wong said.
