THIS week, I felt like I was living on the edge. I put the washing out day after day - always right as the clouds started to gather. Then, I was bold enough to test the structural integrity of a Coles paper bag, packing not one, but two 2 litre milk bottles. It was touch and go and I’m still not sure how I made it out of the shops without losing a handle. 😆
Mother Nature clearly had a starring role this week - from earthquakes to tsunami warnings. Typhoon Co-May also caused havoc in China, leading to significant knock-on delays across shipments. Shanghai and Ningbo have been especially impacted, adding further delays to an already congested region. It’s a reminder of just how unpredictable this industry can be, both on land and at sea.
Closer to home, we’ve been grappling with landside delays in several areas, alongside vessel delays, and everyone's favourite, port omissions.
Carriers continue to carefully balance capacity amid what analysts warn is a deep cyclical downturn in global container shipping - a sector historically challenged by forecasting, where planning newbuilds requires looking four years ahead to avoid costly overcapacity.
There have been some big headlines in the industry this week, but what else do we need to know?

Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead, let me know if there is something else that should be on here!
